Our journey as Group Benefit Brokers began rather innocently on February 22, 2011 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, when Sam St-Phard earned his Health and Accident license. We, initially, began as an independent supplemental insurance agency representing Aflac indemnity insurance. Our agency, at that time, was called, SSP Benefits. In the first ten months of being an independent Aflac agent our Founder, Sam St-Phard, opened thirty one new business accounts. This was a record in the State of Maryland for the Aflac Corporation, that has not since been broken. After that first ten months, Sam St-Phard was promoted by Aflac Maryland Regional Coordinator, Bryan Fish, to a District Sales Coordinator. The fastest promotion to that role in Aflac Maryland history. Even so, Sam St-Phard, remained an independent agent of the Aflac corporation. Between February 2011 and March 2013, Sam St-Phard recruited ten agents into SSP Benefits (an independent Aflac agency), another record for the Aflac Maryland Fish region. In 2013 Sam St-Phard got his Life and Annuities license and expanded the offerings of SSP Benefits to include term and permanent life insurance policies. Sam St-Phard then began to represent other supplemental insurance carriers, and began representing life insurance carriers, like: National Life Group, ANICO (American National Life Insurance Company of Galveston Texas), Equitable North America, Mutual of Omaha, New York Life, and others. In 2015, our founder, Sam St-Phard, sold forty four Indexed Universal Life Insurance Policies in one month! A staggering amount, especially considering that it was consumer to consumer, not business to business. That following year in 2016, one of Sam's clients, who he had covered with a term policy, requested that Sam become his business' group benefits broker. Sam reconnected with one of his colleagues, Ryan Sima, and they partnered to become Group Benefits Brokers for Sam's life insurance client. Now, through GBS/Amwins, TresHealth, JustWorks, the Wealth Transfer Alliance, Unum, InsBenGroup, and many, many, more Broker Partners, we are able to provide, Major Medical, Vision, Dental, Short and Long Term Disability, Supplemental insurance, Pet insurance, Employer Assistance Programs (EAP), HSA cards, FSA cards, Prescription plan designs, and anything that remains compliant and consistent with the regulations of the Affordable Care Act. Our Firm lives, breathes, and operates, by this mantra: "What matters to you, matters to us."

We are now a full service Group Benefits Broker that offers Medical, Dental, Vision, Disabilty, and Guaranteed Issue  group life insurance. Since we have worked in each separate vertical of the insurance profession, we are uniquely qualified to work in tandem with you to provide the best offerings for your employees.
